Extended Play 008

“Cue the Record brings its eighth installment of Extended Play, a curated night of vinyl selections at New York's Barlume with selectors Mustafa of Cue the Record and BLVD.

This edition pays homage to the legendary Studio 54 — the Manhattan nightclub that from 1977 to 1981 became the epicenter of an era. Co-founded by Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, Studio 54 was a cultural phenomenon unlike anything before or since: a place where disco, soul, and funk collided on the dance floor while Bianca Jagger rode in on a white horse and Andy Warhol documented it all from the sidelines. Its velvet rope was notoriously selective, but once inside, the music was the great equalizer.

We're bringing that spirit to Barlume. Expect the selectors to lean deep into disco, house, soul, and funk — the sounds that defined 54's golden years — while still weaving in other genres that make Extended Play what it is.

Come early, stay late.

Absolutely free of charge. 21+ event.”
