HOT TABLOID TRASH!!!!!!!

“Dear diary,

Everything is lame but I want to tell you anyway.

Have you been religiously keeping a journal since childhood? Are your top secret notebooks still hidden underneath your mattress? Do you write a thinly veiled version of yourself into weird romantic fantasies? Do you have a budding Substack just begging to become a salacious tell-all?

This workshop will focus on autobiographical writing and the way we write our lives into our work, whether through strict reportage or the fictionalization of real events. We’ll talk about spectacle and scandal. We’ll talk about the flimsy boundary between author and narrator. We’ll talk publishing and what to do when your parents find your work…

It is recommended you bring some sort of ongoing autobiographical project to this workshop. This might be completely new! You might only have 1 page written and a vague plan for going forward. Or, this could be a 200 page memoir you’ve been sitting on for a decade. Either way, having material to workshop will be helpful 👍

What: four online workshop sessions + written feedback on your work”
