“A 5 week course circling around the dynamic world of Real Housewives! We will explore what reality is, how we communicate our own realities to others, what we learn from watching these shows, gossip, conflict, and more. Class includes discussion, generative writing activities, space to share, and new friends with common interests! Class explores questions like: What does our presentation of self in public say about racist, gendered capitalism? How are women-centric texts spoken about? What are the poetics/ particular languages of the housewives? What keeps us watching? What are the boundaries of self/reality? Can we present ourselves as characters? What performances should we exit? How do they complicate objects/material worlds? :)”
