Mobile Making Workshop

Bring movement to your space with your own handcrafted art.

In this beginner-friendly two-session workshop, students will create their own hanging mobile while learning how to work with wood veneer and metal wire.

Using simple hand tools, including a jeweler’s saw, students will cut, drill, and shape thin wood veneer pieces, while also learning how to straighten, bend, and form wire by hand. The metal structure of the mobile will follow a set design, while the wooden elements can be customized freely within a set number of shapes, allowing each piece to feel personal and unique.

The first session will focus on cutting and shaping, and the second session will focus on assembling and balancing the final mobile. By the end of the workshop, each student will complete one mobile to take home.

Perfect for anyone looking to slow down and enjoy the quiet, rhythmic process of sawing, shaping, and making by hand.”
