“As part of First Free Friday, Pawn Chess Club will host drop-in chess games in The Noguchi Museum’s galleries. Visitors of all ages and levels are welcome to participate, or bring your own chess boards for unlimited game play.
This event is inspired by Noguchi’s enduring commitment to play as a tool for discovery and community building. In addition to playing chess, visitors will be able to view the Chess Table Noguchi designed in 1944 along with several proposed playground models that he created for New York City in the exhibition Noguchi’s New York (on view until September 13).
Participation is free, and advance registration is not required. Games will be first come, first serve. Come play, learn, watch, and connect with fellow chess enthusiasts! “
